Welcome to the Rural Youth Livelihoods Website

The purpose of this site is to disseminate information from an ongoing action-research project focused on exploring youth livelihood strategies in rural areas of Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.
The site also provides links to other organisations and web-based resources relating to youth and development issues.
The research project, which began in April 2002 and will run to March 2005,  is funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID) through the Natural Resources Systems Programme.
The site is maintained by Kevin Waldie, Principal Investigator on the project and Lecturer in the International and Rural Development Department (IRDD), University of Reading.
